Dr Manreet Nijjar is a Consultant Physician in Infectious Diseases and General Medicine. He has over a decade’s experience in frontline NHS services. He is in the first cohort of NHS Clinical Entrepreneur fellow programme and the co-founder of TruU. Alongside Dr Henry Goodier over the past 4 years, they have been working locally, nationally and internationally creating a decentralised digital identity solution for healthcare workers. Truu believes this can only be achieved through open standards, interoperability, a multivendor ecosystem supported by a governance trust framework. As we move into the transformative digital era in healthcare, this digital trust can be diffused through the wider healthcare ecosystem to include patients, medical IoT and private healthcare organisations such as pharmaceutical companies. It will also enable higher levels of trust then currently available in emerging models of care such as telehealth.
