Charlie is the co-founder and President of AfroLeadership, african civil society organization doing research, policy and advocacy for human rights online and digital economy, in Africa.
Charlie has a burning passion for human rights online, digital and data economy. He is a fellow of the Global Network Initiative (The GNI). He is a member of the Algorithmic Bias Working Group of the IEEE Global Initiative on Ethics of Autonomous and Intelligent Systems. He is part of the Civic Charter Global Leadership Team. He sits on the steering committee of the Francophone Africa Open Data Community (CAFDO). He leads the Digital Rights and Data Rights Coalition, formed in Cameroon to mainstream and build capacity on data rights, digital rights and digital economy. He coordinates MyData Global activities in Africa, and aims at building MyData Hub for a human-centric data economy in every country in Africa.
He is a member of the Independent Review Panel of Accountable Now, and of the Independent Accountability Committee of the CSO Partnership for Development Effectiveness (CPDE).
Charlie has expertise in Information, Communication and Technology. He holds university diplomas in computer science and theology, as well as various certifications in public governance and policies. After a Master Degree in Management Science with a thesis on Information Systems, he currently prepares a PhD on public policies with Charisma University and Maaron School.
