MyData 2019 conference
- Who organizes MyData 2019?
The MyData 2019 conference is organised by the international MyData Global nonprofit, headquartered in Finland. MyData Global’s mission is to empower individuals by improving their right to self-determination regarding their personal data.
This is the paradigm shift outlined in the MyData Declaration. Visit mydata.org for more information.
- Why should I attend MyData 2019?
MyData 2019 offers three days of interactive sessions, networking opportunities and inspiration that will contribute to your personal and professional development.
Together with 1000 participants from business, legal, tech and society representing 40+ countries, you will have a chance to accelerate the global change towards a human-centric approach to data.
- When is MyData 2019 taking place?
MyData 2019 takes place on 25-27 September 2019 in Helsinki, Finland.
- Where can I see who is coming?

- What’s the venue?
MyData 2019 will take place in Wanha Satama, an old harbour warehouse converted into a modern conference venue. It is located on Katajanokka peninsula, about 2 km from the Helsinki city center. The address is Pikku Satamakatu 3-5, 00161 Helsinki.

- There is more Opening Day events now than when I registered. How can I let the organisers know which event I want to go to?
We are happy to provide all our attendees with a great opportunity to participate in a wide selection of Opening Day events.
All events are open for all MyData 2019 attendees. If the separate registration is mandatory, you will receive the information about this latest one week before the conference.
Please note that you must register separately at least to the NGI Forum if you plan to attend. Visit the NGI Forum website for registration.
Programme
- What’s the programme?
The programme of MyData 2019 conference consists of three days with over 40 sessions in 10 thematic tracks. Check the programme section for all the details.
Over 100 experts will speak at MyData 2019 – you can check on them in presenter section.
- What does the Opening Day mean?
Opening Day is the day where the programme of MyData 2019 is put together with MyData 2019 partners. Those events complement the main programme of the conference. All Opening Day events are listed here.
Tickets
- How do I get my ticket to MyData 2019?
You can buy your ticket online on mydata2019.org/tickets.
If you wish to pay by invoice or buy bigger amount of tickets, contact conference@mydata.org or fill the form.
- Can I buy more than one ticket at the same time?
You can buy up to 5 tickets in the ticket store online.

- Who is eligible for Discounted tickets?
Discounted prices are available for startups, nonprofits, research institutions, governmental organisations and individuals.
- Are startups eligible for Discounted tickets?
Yes!
- I am a member of MyData Global. Do I get any discount?
Members of MyData Global receive 10% discount on the 1-day and 3-day conference tickets.

- Is there a limited number of participants?
Yes, there is a limit of 1000 participants.
- What’s included in the ticket price?
- Access to the full programme of the conference (26 and 27 Sept) and the Opening Day events (25 Sept) for 3-day tickets
or to the chosen day of the conference for 1-day tickets, - Coffee breaks and lunches,
- Access to networking app Brella (more information and access published soon),
- Evening programme (more on that soon),
- The best opportunity to get in touch with the MyData community, inspire and get inspired!

- Can I cancel my ticket?
The tickets cannot be cancelled but they can be transferred to another attendee. Please contact conference@mydata.org in that case.
- Are the Opening Day events included in the ticket price?
The Opening Day events are included in the 3-day ticket.
Note that a separate registration to the NGI Forum is required.
- Is NGI Forum included in the ticket price?
The participation in the NGI Forum is free and all participants of MyData 2019 are welcome to register.
Please note that there is a limited amount of spots.
Practicalities
- What is Brella?
Brella is a networking app that help attendees meet the people they want to meet. Brella allows you to schedule face-to-face meetings easily and book the meeting spot with no hassle. You will get the access to Brella together with your conference ticket.
- What’s the evening programme?
The evening programme will include:
- The informal get-together on the 24th September in Bruuveri bar. Address: Fredrikinkatu 63 AB, 00100 Helsink
- The opening reception on the 25 September and the get-together by The Finnish State Development Agency Vake Oy
- Sauna evening on the 26 September
- Afterparty on the 27 September
The conference team will also pre-book a number of tables in the restaurants for the self-organized dinners (self-paid).

- Are there any hotels recommended?
There is a number of hotels pre-booked for the attendees of MyData 2019. Please check the Practical Information section for more details.
