Running ideas
A nice central run around Helsinki can be found here.
Variations on the length of the run can easily be made, e.g. once round Töölönlahti is about 2km with challenging hill on the eastern side. For the longer loop at around 1.5km checkpoint is the statue of the “Flying Finn”, Paavo Nurmi — winner of nine Olympic gold running medals between 1920-28.

Swimming ideas
The summer is over but you can still enjoy the outdoor swim and not far from the conference venue! The stunning downtown Sea Allas Pool would be a fun experience of pool swimming and sauna, though the cost is €14. More info here.
